obsessed

With Fall just around the corner, the online shopping has come to an all time high! I've been picking up some staple pieces for the cooler weather (while also drooling over pieces that are currently out of my budget). I think it's safe to say that if you are even slightly interested in fashion, then Fall is the season you look forward to the most. The possibilities and fashion limits are endless -- layers, boots, accessories, sweaters, &scarves!

As I was browsing through online shops, blogs, and magazines, I couldn't help but get excited for my favorite  item of clothing for the Fall...jackets! My current (& also past) obsession is a military inspired green parka/jacket. My current one is from J.Crew Factory from about a year ago, I scored it on major discount on a trip to the outlets. I can throw it on in the Spring when it's a little chilly and then again in the Fall with layered sweaters and scarves.

I've been looking to upgrade this season and I am absolutely smitten with this contrast military jacket from Topshop. I played around with some images on polyvore and came up with a casual/cool outfit and a bit more dressed up outfit with the jacket. Hope you enjoy!

2 Ways for Fall

personal preference

A short list...

Basic Tee

1. Simple
I have really pushed myself as far as fashion over the past couple of years and I credit that to the incredible fashion blogs and bloggers that I read on a daily basis. I've tried fashion trends that I never in a million years thought I would try and I can say that I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Yet, I still find myself gravitating to tried and true silhouettes of basic and simple tee's and bottoms. So as much as I absolutely love the bloggers who are so bold to try new and trendy fashion items, I will stick to what I know and love by sharing my "simple" style paired with the occasional trends of the moment.

dainty jewelry

2. Dainty
I am currently obsessed with Etsy, particularly the selection of small, dainty jewelry in custom sizing! I have tiny wrists and fingers so as much as I would love to stack on bracelets (or rings), I have to be particular about what I buy in stores because nine times out of ten, those items won't fit right. I also really love that I can find quality pieces on Etsy that will last me much longer than a piece of costume jewelry might last.

Madewell Flats

3. Comfort
Although I am just about 5'3" and would consider myself a "shorty," I am a comfort (i.e. flats) type of girl. I love the idea of wearing heels on a day to day basis, but my lifestyle and location don't require me to do so. So for now, a good comfortable pair of flats (or boots/loafers) is just as important as being "stylish" in 4 inch heels (although I don't think you lose any style points for being comfortable). But don't get me wrong, I love wearing heels once or twice a week for the weekend or special occasions.

chambray

3. Classic (kinda)
I love, love, LOVE a good button up, whether in classic white chiffon, chambray, plaid, colored, etc. The list goes on! They are so versatile and one way or another can be worn for any occasion. I would categorize my fashion preference as classic but casual. Some days, I wear buttons up buttoned all the way to the top with a light sweater and tucked into a high waisted skirt and other days, I wear it unbuttoned with a flowy tank top and loose shorts.

A condensed list for now but one point I'd like to make is that for the most part, I dress for myself because I want to feel good about myself. Pretty much it. Of course I am still learning and experimenting with the types of clothes that I enjoy and also what suits me and my body type. I've gotten the confused, "what are you wearing?!" look from the bf more than a handful of times but at the end of the day, I don't regret the way I dress because honestly, whether you love it at the end of the day or not, you learned something new about yourself! Fashion is an expression of yourself so why hold back? :) That is not to say that fashion and style is everything because to be frank, it's not. Fashion/clothes shouldn't define you -- there are far more important things in life than a piece of clothing on my back. With that said, I hope that this blog will become an outlet for me to reflect my personal fashion along with my personal life, thoughts and stories.
